As the daughter of Stanley Willard Henson, Jr, a physician, and Thelma Burnell Henson, Michele Carey whose birth name is Michele Lee Henson was born on February 26, 1942 in Annapolis, Maryland in the United States of America. As a teenager, she was a master at piano. at the age of thirteen, she was the winner of a competition at the Chicago Music Festival.
